Sunday Morning

I have received a few e-mails and text messages inquiring about more information on the charter commission petition. I will be sure to let everyone know as soon as I am aware of anything further.  I also point out that there is a request on the FairAction Fairhaven facebook page to let Sharon Andersen know if you are interested.

This won't change anything that has happened to date.  I would be one monumental step to changing how we as a town can be a better place for everyone.  As the saying goes, this is an issue where everyone needs to be willing to "walk across the aisle" and join in the effort.

Get use to hearing about this, because a charter study commission is going to happen.

The deadline for candidates to be removed from the ballot is February 29, 2012.  They have until 5:00 p.m. to withdraw their nomination papers.

I am going to use that as my deadline for the free form pages for the various offices.  If you want to take advantage of expressing an opinion about the election, if you are a candidate and want to post a statement, you will have until then.  Any pages with a comment will remain up after that, any page without one will be removed. 

What else?  

Locally, if you travel over the bridge you should be aware of the fact that it is scheduled to be closed to vehicle/foot traffic for three weeks starting March 3 or 4th.  Sorry forget the actual date and too lazy at the moment to look it up.

I am going to ask everyone to try and make the effort to continue to frequent those business on Pope's Island that you currently do.  It might make it a bit inconvenient, but it would mean a great deal to those establishments.  

There are a lot of things on the horizon.  National Primary, Local Election, Town Meeting to mention just three.  Remember to stay informed.

Well that is it for now.  Just not a day to get into the nitty gritty on anything.  At least not this morning.
