In the beginning ...

OK, I am going to start bare bones on this blog, since I really don't have a clue as to how to proceed otherwise. I just thought it might be good to have a spot to discuss Fairhaven area issues that I, or you might consider important (or any issue for that matter, thus the "and more").

At some point, comments will become "un-moderated" or whatever the proper term is. I want to see if there is any real interest in this first.   Just as importantly, I want to make sure it at least starts out the way it is intended to run.

If your posts are not vulgar or obscene, personal attacks on someone, completely off the wall, or somehow violate Google's policies, then I intend to post them, whether I agree with you or not. This blog is intended to offer a free exchange of ideas and opinions, not uniformity. Because someone does not agree with me (or you) doesn't mean they are stupid or wrong.

Feel free to respond or challenge anything said, but be prepared for the same to happen to your post.  Identifying yourself would be great, but is not necessary.  Assuming everyone applies the standards for debate used 20 years ago, rather than today's apparent standards, everything should be a.o.k. For you town folks, think "Town Meeting Decorum".

I will try to get to comments/posts at least twice a day. No point in doing something like this otherwise. Feel free to offer up what you want, and I will do the same.
Let's see how it goes.

  1. John I think this is a great idea and hope that this blog works as intended...providing an open forum to discuss Fairhaven area issues.

To start, I would like to hear from the candidates for office, as to what they feel will be biggest issue facing them if elected.

  2. Good idea, John.

I suggest on the right side of the page, you add links to useful Fairhaven websites, particularly the town's official site http://Fairhaven-MA.gov
and possibly others. You can copy some that are listed on the Office of Tourism site http://FairhavenTours.blogspot.com or on the Millicent Library site http://MillicentLibrary.org

  7. Good idea. Wish there would be no "anonymous" posts allowed. If someone wants to express an opinion, stand by it.
