A few rants, and it is only Tuesday.

Wow.  Wow is all I can say. If you don't know what I mean by wow, well wow.

Enough cryptic talk.

I know one thing for certain now, but I am keeping that cryptic too.

I won $10.00 last night.  It was like stealing candy from a baby.  If I can keep finding betters for votes from the selectmen's meeting, I might be able to make a good sideline income.  I think I am going to have to give stiff odds soon though.  But then again, given the players involved it won't be much of a risk.

I have got to tell you, it is getting painful, yet riveting, watching meetings on Monday night. The surprise factor you hear in the voices is better than most reality television surprises.

Speaking of surprises, if anyone thinks we should be dumping serious dough into the old COA building to keep EMA there, they should talk to the Geico lizard on the Brooklyn Bridge, i.e. forget about it.

Whatever logistical space may be needed for EMA or any other department, forget about it.

That building should have been dumped years ago when the real estate market was way up, but we were too busy collecting rent (yes, believe it or not the Town of Fairhaven has actually charged non-town entities rent in the past to use buildings).

Honestly, just who the heck runs this place anymore anyway.

And while we are on buildings, just at what point in time is our fearless board of selectmen going to start collecting rent from the historical society.  Trust me, that issue is not going to disappear.  Neither is the feeble excuse that particular group's contributions going to fly as a rent waiver.

Did you see the discussion during last nights meeting over the matter? Roughly twenty-five minutes of tap dancing.

Where was the concern about the Town Department getting adequate space in a Town Building.

The time for letting the historical society dictate, demand, ask for or even suggest anything is long gone.  Get rid of these free loaders.  Now.  Get rid of them.  Throw Them Out.

When they are done with the fans at Oxford School, take them to the Academy Building, open the windows, turn the fans on and let them blow the building clean.

Why is this even still any issue.  Explain that to me. Please.  Give me a reason other than a selectman or two gets a call chastising him.

By the way, if you need money for a ramp, charge the free loaders rent!!!!!!!!!!

This whole issue is long past ridiculous.  We treat this non-town entity with kid gloves why?????

Anyone, and I mean anyone, who wants to debate whether the merits of the historical society equal the benefit of the free rent it receives, let me know.  I can tell you right now, in this admittedly confused mind, the display cases in the present office of tourism do more to highlight "Fairhaven" history than any "period" room.

If people are stymied about what can be done, I got some more formal suggestions that can and will be made at the appropriate times if necessary.  Admittedly that would require two of three selectmen to actually do something.

And while we are on a rant, where does anyone intend to get any of the money for the other projects anyone wants to spend money for discussed last night.

And if you followed the conversation/discussion/whatever on the solar stuff, let me know, because I didn't.  If sense were cents, we aren't going to end up with a plug nickle.

I really don't get how so many people supposedly in charge ain't got a clue.  But I might be having a problem with the sound on my television.

How in the name of anything rational is there being any discussion about tying any school building into yet another "solar" project, that yet again doesn't actually involve the school committee from the get go.

You want to know why things get messed up in this town, look at how involved the department you absolutely need to make something work is.

Did it dawn on anyone to invite the school committee?  If not, just why not?

This is getting really, really bizarre.  Weird.  Gonzo.  Wacko even.

Remember the term 25A, because that is one of the ways you ended up with spinning wheels in the sky.

  1. Though I have not seen the tape of the Selectmen's meeting I would not support any funding to maintain/improve the building for the EMA. The space is larger than what they need and I agree the building should have been sold and maybe still should be to fund other projects. Sid Martin
