Okay, as a heads up, be aware that blogs are going to be a bit spotty at best for awhile. Chalk it up to a combination of time and technical difficulties.
DeTerra is going to appeal the decision on the contested ballot. so as to the when if a new election is mandated, well take a guess, July, August September, next April?
One thing is clear, at least to me. Unless the time period for allowing people to register to vote in an election was shortened, the board of health election would have had to been scheduled several days ago in order to be held the same day as the special senate election. I believe the period is 20 days.
Anyway, the saga continues.
Interesting read in the FNN about Con Com. Tough board to sit one given the very technical regs. and standards and science. Apparently also having problems with members showing up.
Most interesting thing though is the statement by a member that the chair wasn't notified of a seen violation because "it is too difficult". What that means is your guess. Watch the meeting if you can for the segment. It is in the last 45 minutes or show from my memory. I know what I took it to mean.
You can talk about selective enforcement all you want. Most complaints about any violation of any code result from someone calling for enforcement, or from direct observation. If you see a violation and don't complain about it, you can't argue about select enforcement when an observed violation is dealt with.
If you make a decision not to report a violation, doesn't that in and of itself constitute selective enforcement on your part?
Anyway, bottom line, serving on any board or committee isn't easy. Everyday you continue to see more and more how individuals feel somehow entitled to exceptions, breaks and privileges from existing laws and standards.
If you watch enough of this stuff you will run across multiple examples of people complaining about enforcement on one night and then complaining about lack of enforcement on another.
I feel for Mr. Taylor, I really do.
Enough for today. Have to relinquish the laptop. Enjoy the day before the rain; and, Be Safe.
