Well seems there are others, or at least one other, thinking along the lines I have been on the mitigation issue. In a very to the point piece, Steve Urbon offers his opinion in today's S -T under the headline "Fairhaven demand on wind issue premature".
Mr. Urbon makes several extremely valid points. Indeed, if on applies the legal "reasonable person standard" to the piece, it would be hard to imagine finding a reasonable person who can disagree with the points.
He hits it out of the park starting with the very first sentence.
On another matter ...
Seems Selectman Espindola has received his legal opinion. The Board will now have a full compliment when dealing with issues. From the report in the S-T a quick read might indicate Selectman Espindola has a green light, but reading the thing more carefully I think it is yellow, i.e. proceed with caution (you now the text book definition of a yellow light, not the Mass. driver version, being hit the gas and close your eyes).
There are enough buzz words in the article to indicate there is still a tightrope that needs to be walked, but if you can do a good balancing act, you can safely walk it.
In the interest of open and transparent government, hopefully the written decision, with the state ethics commission's comments, will be made public.
I can hear the bell ringing for round two on this one.
