The most notable note for today is the celebration of Independence Day. Many people before me, with much greater ability and eloquence have tackled the significance of that one day in history.
What it has meant to those who have come before us, those here today and for those yet to live and experience the freedoms and opportunities that sprung forth from the issuance of a declaration penned centuries ago, can never be adequately expressed.
Has does one ever describe something so significant as to do it justice?

One looks back at the men gathered in Philadelphia at that time and has to wonder in awe of their collective make-up, brilliance, daring and abilities, and that of those elsewhere in what became the original United States.
Indeed if there ever was another instance in history to equal in number and ability the collection of so many extraordinary people who managed to produce what has remained the greatest living experiment in the democratic process, I cannot think of it.

Ours is not a perfect history by any measure, but by most measures I think it is one very much worth celebrating.
Just a note worth noting ...
