Nibbling at the edges

Well you missed quite the event if you slept throw the thunderstorm this A.M.  A straight down, downpour like I haven't seen for quite a while.

Been flipping through the e-pages this morning. Lots of nice stuff on the local graduations. Special congrats again to FHS Class 2013.

Selectmen's agenda for tonight is pretty hefty. A two hour block of appointments, at one-half hour each, covering topics that should average a good 45 minutes each minimum.  An interesting list of letters to the board on the agenda also.

Then there is another meeting scheduled for tomorrow night.  Just one appointment on that one with the Conservation Commission.  The town calendar also has yet another meeting scheduled for June 6th; there is an agenda up for June 10th (12:00 P.M. start time for this one).  The 6/10 meeting is with the B of H over the turbines.

Interestingly enough, today we are told to expect a decision on the ballots from the Judge in the B of H race.

Will next week's meeting still go ahead if the decision necessitates a new election?  If the ballots don't change the results, do you still go forward when the case challenging the election process itself is still pending?

Key to the one ballot in question, or a key component if you will.  Was the ballot similarly marked for other races, i.e. were there "votes" on the ballot outside the oval?  Seems to be a factor in the standard used in states for which I could find standards.

The more I ponder this, the more it seems likely to me we may have a new election based on a ballot.

I said it before, I don't see all the other arguments going anywhere; but if they did, it should mean and entirely brand new election in all races.  You can't question the integrity of the process for one race only. Just my humble opinion.

Be interesting to see just what happens with all these integrity arguments if the ballot gets scratched resulting in a tie.

Hopefully, no later than the end of the day the issue on the ballot gets decided.

No matter what the decision, there seems to be a very full plate over the next several weeks for us to feast upon.

That's it for today.  Be safe.
