Consistency

A ponderous early morning so far.  Too many thoughts in a too small mind I suppose. All that clutter weighing things down.  Compounded by the fact that the weekly FNN is not out "online" as of 5:00 A.M. to help perhaps provide some spark to the fire needed for a tad bit of insight.

I suppose part of my problem as of late has been tiptoeing through the minefield comprised of the various issues. It can get very tiresome at times. This is especially true when you have managed to clear a few of those mines only to discover more have been placed in front of you.

Next one to be cleared, the next joint meeting of the B of H and Selectmen.

This is going to be an interesting meeting, because ii is suppose to deal with not one but two issues. The turbines and the waterfront in the center.  If you don't see the eerie similarities between these two issues, well I suppose it means we all view things through a different perspective.

The bottom line: two areas of town where residents believe they are being adversely affected by legally existing enterprises.  Like it or not that is an absolutely correct statement by the way.  Both enterprises have a legal right to operate.

Both being subject to the same administrative, regulatory and statutory laws and procedures.  Both having residents demanding relief and feeling they are not getting it.

Both groups of residents feeling there are political motivations behind the action, or inaction of the powers that be. Although in one of life's many ironies, entirely different motivations and players are perceived.  Indeed it has been noted to this blogger by some how perplexed they are over the seemingly different level of concern, involvement and energy some seem to place on one issue versus the other.

Indeed you could use the same exact arguments both for and against the various sides of both matters from the moral perspective, and the legal perspective.  In fact I have actually heard that flip flop used by people with different positions on the two matters.

Anyway, just a thought for the day.

Be safe.

  1. This meeting may be a chance to see the historically biased treatment demonstrated by boards towards businesses and towards residents. Compare the dialogue between the board members and the business representatives. Compare the interaction between the board members and the residents. It would be easier to accept an undesired consequence of compliance if everyone was treated the same in all situations.
