Memo

Another day, another headline.  If you have not heard, or read about the latest chapter in the town election, be aware the Secretary for the Commonwealth's Office has sent a letter to the Town Clerk notifying her that it will be conducting an investigation into the standards, practices and procedures of the election.

I am hearing that in the event such standards practice and procedures, or more specifically the deficiencies of the same, rise to the level to require a new election there will be more than one race involved in the do over, and most likely include town meeting members.

If the ultimate arbitrators in this matter determine there is enough reason to in fact call for a new election, we will all need to accept that fact.  If not, we will all need to accept that fact also.

The steps to get there however should not be taken lightly; and, apparently aren't going to be.

Moving on, temporarily ....

My intent this morning was to dive into the Town Administrator proposal.  Unfortunately, I had a few other things to do this morning before I could get to the blog.

The most important thing everyone needs to do:  Look at the proposed special legislation.  You can find it on the Town Website.  Then feel free to embrace it, disregard it or look to amend it.  Please, just don't dismiss it out of hand.

Short and perhaps not so sweet, but that is it for today.  Be safe.
