So what's up for today? Seems like one of those days to hunker down with a good book, a good cup of coffee, a a hearty stew for a meal.
I have used the Eisenstein theory of insanity several times during the run of this blog. Indeed, one could very well argue that the blog itself is proof of that particular theory. Same message(s), same theme(s), looking to alter the course a bit, yet still heading in the same direction.
Anyway ...
Several seasons kicking into full gear, and I am not referring to the weather. Town silly season, i.e. elections in April. Budget season now the absolutely wonderful knows has been handed down from the state. Of course for the budget season we have scheduled a warm up game, with the STM to be held on February 12th.
I was asked the other day whether I thought the pot articles would be controversial. We have two on the warrant. The first up will be the proposed zoning article. The second up would be the proposed moratorium article which would be voted on only if the zoning article didn't pass.
I can envision someone trying to make them controversial. I don't have a personal problem with the isolated zone. I can imagine a speech or too about eh downfall of society, but if I had to make a bet, I would imagine the article would pass, but you never know, especially with a two-thirds vote by the way.
While I have noted I personally don't have a problem with the zone, still not personally sure whether I am going to vote for the article.
The hoot will be the fight for the moratorium if the article fails. Even if it passes, I would opine it would be tossed by the A.G. You kind of lose steam for the argument for a need for a moratorium to study the issue and prepare an article to deal with it, when the vote previous to the moratorium dealt with the article you had prepared to deal with the issue. More on that another day when I need some filler for this electronic paper.
One of the very, very few times I kind of wish historical precedent on certain types of articles didn't exist.
Anyway, it is one of those days when nothing seems as if it is going to get finished, including the thought process which started this blog today.
This is as far as it is going today.
Be safe.
Wish the town had the same problem Colorado has with the disposal of revenue derived from pot sales. It cant be deposited in federal banks because its illegal income for federal purposes, they treat it as cash an spend it the same way.Our town could easily find ways to spend this illegal cash non withstanding the circumstances...
