Technical Difficulties

Well, seems do to some technical difficulties, i.e. your blogger being a bit technically challenged, yesterday's puff piece went poof. It seems what you don't know can in fact hurt you.

Apparently, it isn't a good idea to work on a piece on multiple devices and leaving versions open on said devices; and, then removing the tab said piece from another device after posting with the other device and then ... well you get the picture.

There always being a silver lining, or inventing one to fit the circumstance, at least yesterday's piece was on the "lighter" side shall we say.

So ... what can I say, it is gone.

There was one comment waiting moderation for it though. Truthfully, even under the wider four corner concept, it was way outside the boundaries. Folks, great latitude will be given for commenting since the "rebirth" but keep the game within the ball park.

Anyway ... speaking of the ball park,

I have been asked by several people when the new team manager for the club takes over the reigns completely. Technically that has happened. The question is what's up with old management lingering along. That question has to be directed to the general managers for the franchise, not this humble blogger.

Somehow I think the transition process is going to be on a very long time unless the GMs sets a specific date.

The overall chatter out there for the new season though is good. There seems to be some optimism out there that the new direction is the correct one.

Speaking of chatter, kind of low key for the election.

No more than four for the position of ring master. Number 5 ain't alive this time around.

This is going to be a real interesting race from a purely pundit view. Financially, and yes we know we all pay way too much in taxes and rates and everything else, but financially the town is sound. Let's face it, recent policies adopted by the board have had a positive effect, policies long overdo.

One would expect the same to receive some review and rewrite going forward over the boilerplate stuff that was initially implemented, but the boilerplate is usually a good place to start, and it is working.

Extremely doubtful there will be any significant blow-ups financially between now and the elections. While the union contracts are all up, the prospect of those getting settled between now and voting time are unlikely. Indeed the ability of several challengers if they succeed and dealing with one or more contracts, and nonunion compensation is either an actual conflict for one and at a minimum a perceived conflict for another. Let's throw in health insurance, retirement and several budgets to boot.

I am sure the issues of conflicts will be raised in many ways. If they ain't, there ain't no homework being done.

Seems to me, those desiring change are looking for change because they want it, not necessarily because it is needed.  Nothing wrong with being in charge, just as long as you are sure you are going to be an improvement.

But more on that as the weather warms up. I predict an early and lively spring!

Anyway, I had planned to take today off from the keyboard, but since there was the technical difficulty I figured, what the heck.

Until next time.

  1. Lets hope that FinCom will be a guiding force with the contracts and there usual last minute stall tactics.I am sure the new TM will receive some guidance from them and previous set aside monies will be unavailable to them if contracts are not timely. As far as old management not keeping up.hopefully the new TM see"the picture an makes appropriate changes.Yes we do pay to much in taxes, but as along as we keep on adding debt exclusions the beat will go on.
