First, a thanks to the reader for the update on the pot plant. According to the information it was a 6 - 1 in favor of the special permit. So getting that heads up I went to the GAC (government access channel) and yep, the continuation hearing is on line.
I think the pot plant represents a good example for many concepts. The truly most obvious being "be careful what you wish for."
Little thought as to where this concept would be going say three to five years down the road, or certainly looks like where it is going. At least not at the polls. The regulators seem to have had that in mind. Trying to insure limited facilities and placing restrictions, some 50 pages plus of stuff, so when like many trends of today.
There is indeed gold in them plants.
Think this is all about simply altruistic motives? Look at the litigation surrounding the application and award process.
Anyway, it is here. It is locally permitted. Now the state just has to resolve the mess from its end.

Next up friends, is the "either you are with me or against me" concept. The absolute number one reason politics has devolved into gridlock and the concept of community is devolving into segments and not the whole.
Now on any one particular matter, I can understand the concept. To carry the "blood feud" forward on other issues, well that is what gets us to where we are. You have read here and elsewhere that politics are a blood sport. Nothing will cause a spill more than the "concept".
Hearing rumblings about the latest turf war. Actually a discussion item on the selectmen's agenda.
Believe it or not, this one actually involves turf. Specifically the turf for the grounds for the two former schools. No, this one doesn't even involve the actual sale of the buildings. It boils down to who is actually going to cut the grass.
Nothing new on this one really. Issue was raised in the past. Fact that this wasn't planned out is another matter, but hey ... it is just a little grass right.
Anyway ...
Lots of stuff going on around town today and tomorrow, so plenty to enjoy.
Be safe.

Strange. All the selectmen, chiefs and press were at the marijuana hearing, but no coverage at all. Why are the government heads so supportive of this business.hmm.
ReplyDeleteWho's the boss! another reason we need a TM to make difficult decisions like cutting grass.Or better yet ,combine the park and highway departments ,and give them directions to cut any grass on town properties as needed. Or did I miss something...
ReplyDeleteTell you what, I agree. Like buying a lawn mower though, best to get one with a little more horse power than you will actually need, rather than get one with only 90% of the recommended oomph.
