Odds and Ends (more odd than anything really)

Based on an article in the S-T today, it seems there is still hope for the SouthCoast rail, still a bit down that never ending road, but hope for "some" funding.  When some politician can actually tell us exactly where the end of the road is for the project, I will get a bit more enthusiastic.  Until then, no one should be making alternate travel plans.

There is an "op-ed" piece in the S-T today dealing with the "Citizens United" decision.  Clearly in the vain of "two wrongs don't make a right", however glossing over the current headliner "wrong".

I know, drifting a bit afar from our little Town, however such things do affect us all.

I will agree with one thing though in the op-ed, the implication that the application of the 501(c) laws is a shame. On many, many fronts.

Enough of that for now ...

So locally, the still persistent question that I am all most inevitably asked is whether we are going to have another election, i.e. the no commonly described "re-do".  Three times yesterday.  I am amazed this is still even remotely on the radar (not that it has in fact entirely disappeared by the way as a blip though).

The still constant answer, including answers to the usual follow-up questions, goes like this: I don't have a clue.  I don't think we should.  I have no say in the matter.  It would be nice if there would be a definitive stance on the Town's part, preferably one that states the Town is not going to seek one.

Whatever will be, will be folks.  That particular future is out of our individual hands.  

It would be interesting if it happened though (purely from a political junkie point of view).  I would like to see how many people actually follow through on statements they have made about what they would do, if in fact a new election were to be held.

Moving on ...

What else for today.  Not much really.  Well not much I am motivated about at the moment.  I have been resisting the temptation to pipe up about a certain topic.  No point in kicking sand on it.  Always remember before you do something like that not fence yourself in on any issue.  You always have to make sure to not end up with egg on your face.
