Still a bit wobbly?

I had intended to do a piece about Wednesday night's selectmen's meeting.  Funny thing happened on the way to that forum.

First, one of the appointments on the initial agenda was scratched on a revised agenda. Now there was still plenty on the plate so that it would have been worth going. Motivation to get up and go however didn't equal the desire to stay put.  Neither did any curiosity outweigh the ever encroaching apathy.

In short, I missed it.  Didn't even bother to tune in. Yes, I know.  Shame on me.

So if you were a member of the viewing audience and saw anything of interest, let's hear about it.  At least one inquiring mind, admittedly a bit of a lazy one, wants to know.

Truthfully, all the bumpy roads being traveled right now will going forward lead directly through the one being traveled to implement the soon to be one year old TA special legislation. All solutions will have to be channeled through that position.

Well that and probably again through the legislature to put the cart behind the horse relative to the BPW proposal.  Still potentially two kicks at that can though locally.  Two more town votes allowed if we want, within a two year window.

This should be a primary issue in the selectmen's race. Three of the candidates backed the proposed citizen's advocacy board while on the TGSC. Will they push for another ballot vote if elected?  It is also important because if we aren't going to change to a "unified" system, then we need to change the other piece of legislation.

Quite frankly, the transition to this new government was one of the reasons I planned on attending the meeting last night. When the agenda changed, when an appointment simply became a discussion, and there were scratches made to the night's lineup, the entertainment factor was greatly diminished. Well ... okay, mainly I am just making excuses for being lazy.

The long and the short if it is we will continue down the path paved for us, based on plans submitted, and yes in fact approved. Well one set of plans was approved.  The other one was pretty soundly rejected.

As was said prior to the prior votes, we will simply continue to stumble and bumble down a path. Yes folks, perfection is unattainable.  But good enough isn't a standard anyone should be accepting for certain things. When you put the cart before the horse, you should realize you have a major problem on the horizon.

Now some of you may be saying old news, just a rehash, even it is what it is.  Fair enough.  But there is a reason it is what it is, and there are three reasons it is being rehashed, and is going to be rehashed. When you asking others to trust your future judgment, your past judgments are very relevant.

Watch the spin that plays out on this.  Listen to what is said, remember what has been said, and consider what was some claim was "never" said.

This is going to be a crazy race folks, and unfortunately it will be for many of the wrong reasons I think.

Well, another disjointed stroll down the thought process in an attempt to get back into the swing of things.  They say you never forget to learn how to ride a bike, but it seems it  takes a few peddles to get back to a steady ride I guess.

Until next time.

  1. The BOS meeting was only audible..so it might've helped your mood, whereas you wouldn't have to see the faces..but you would know the voices.
