It is about the 95% rule, 95% of the time.

Perception. Cannot ever avoid it.

How anyone continues to argue traffic is a reason against housing vs. a multi use facility is beyond me.  Don't want more housing, fine. Don't continue to argue traffic. With a count of 441 vs. 552 just which cause more traffic?

In the relative scheme of life, knock your socks off and pick one or the other.  But if you pick the not for profit, make damn sure you have a flip provision for the property. Be even more sure you pay attention to the grumblings on the street about why you are leaning that way, and that you don't turn those mutterings of discontent into a reality.

And today's reality is come Monday afternoon, we will have an announcement of the pick for the TA position. Because if we don't there will be an alternate reality that will sweep in that no one is going to like.

The blurb in the local weekly as to information about one of the candidates, if the same was cause for further delay, would indicate which way the board was leaning. If that isn't part of the present reality, than one has yo wonder what actually caused the delay.

Enough on the no decision, let us get back to the future.

One of the candidates for high office recently posted a comment about there being less micro management, hopefully, with the implementation of the TA. A sentiment I concur with.  Understand though that there are two types of micro management.

The first is by the person, or persons, in charge who simply cannot help themselves. The second is because the people being micro-managed have to be.  In our fair haven we see a fair mix of both. It is the nature of the beast when you have the present mix of a system of elected officials with the level of authority we have and appointed officials with the lack of authority,

Everyone should be looking to the future of not only proper management but the accountability concept all three candidates for TA discussed in some form.

The best thing about this TA system is going to be the elimination of the circle of finger pointing. TAs know that, and that is why they hold people accountable, because if they don't in the end the TA becomes accountable.

Everyone on the present payroll should keep that little tidbit in mind.

That being said, getting rid of the circle of blame and the also circle of oversight and interference, I think we will find many who are going to shine being freed from certain constraints.  As with any system change though, a few are going to end up going the other way.

Speaking of going the other way ...

Seems there is a rumor or two on the street one of the announced four is noting that the decision hasn't been made whether to run or not. Here I was thinking when you put out an announcement saying you are running for office that means you have made the decision.

Certainly we all have the right to changes our minds.  But when you do, that is exactly what your are doing, changing your mind.  Not sure how you weave a definitive statement into a "maybe".

Anyway .. back to the future ... well the future noted above ...

Specifically people on the payroll, in one form or another. that is certainly going to be an issue in the election.  For every single announced candidate.  You might not readily see it, but it is.  More to come on that when we actually reach the future.

Only in Fairhaven will you see people start planning for an election to be held after the next election. Yes in deed folks, there are all ready little birds chirping about the Spring of 2017. that one could turn into more of a hoot than this one.  Tangled webs already being weaved. Future game plans dependent upon the outcome of the game still to be played. If this happens, than this. If that doesn't happen, than this.

Its what keeps politics so interesting at times.

Until next time.
