Let's improve on that

Let's try and get something down for the end of the week.

As a note to all you political gadflies, our Board of Selectmen meet on Tuesday, July, 22, 2014 next week. Not the somewhat usual Monday.

It is another packed agenda.  Six scheduled appointments starting at 7:00 P.M. with the last appointment scheduled for 8:30. Of course the last one is the scheduled time to go into executive session. If that schedule gets appeared to there is only a score or so other items to be dealt with between the "6:30 ish" start time and the first appointment.

Some interesting matters are on tap.  Seem there is to be some discussion relative to the sidewalk restoration project. You know the one approved and authorized by Town Meeting.  Been hearing a tidbit or too about how some are considering what is and isn't appropriate, and there vision of what would be nice, or nicer?

Nice, nicer, better, best, and least we forget - beauty, are in the eye of the beholder are they not?

Perhaps attending the meeting will shed more light on the matter, which I believe is about lights (if I have to hazard a guess).

We are a town not only wrapped up in and deeply invested in history.  By all means let us preserve the true treasurers in this Town.  Let' just not rewrite history, or perhaps in this chase redraw the true picture of it.

Speaking of pictures, we will be seeing the snap shot of the consultants report for what to do with the former Rogers-Oxford schools. We get to see what insight those few thousand dollars more have bought us.

Anyway ...

History will further be discussed as in what appears to be a very short year, the issue of the deed to to former Rogers school and the portrait of HHR is listed under correspondence. why this is up for consideration/discussion/appeasement is beyond me.  But it is.

Speaking of measurements of time, won't be long till the new school year starts, and the school department again gains priority over scheduling and use of the athletic fields annex, a/k/a Cushman Park.  That should be an interesting development.

People seem to forget recent history and the deal that was made with the SBA relative to funding the renovation and addition for the Castle on the hill to remain the Castle of our school system.

Anyway ...

Life is what it is folks.  Too often hard, too often complicated, and too often needlessly so. Especially when doing the right thing is code for doing what is best for the "me" and not what is best for the "us".

Admittedly a personal opinion there. What the heck, right? Until outvoted, aren't we all a majority of one?

Enough for today.

Be safe.
